The One That Would Always Love Me

In all guilt and filth
I rolled in the gutter
A prince without honour
A shame to your mighty glory

Foolishness was a robe that fit
I was wrapped in the ways of the flesh
A human with eyes a being without vision
Blind to the very things before me

I heard the truth but they were alien
Those words could never fit the earth
You beckoned but I turned away
Walking steadily into the path of the lost

But You never gave up on this filth
You never turned your back on this flea
This dead dog kept you waiting
And still you waited

The crown You held out
With hands that were never weary
Nothing greater has been done for me
But you did it, the One that has always love me
